CES 2024: OLEDWorks Debuts New Technology and a New Automotive Brand

January 24, 2024

Earlier this month, OLEDWorks exhibited for our third year at CES. With over 600 mobility exhibitors and 135,000 attendees, CES is one of the largest and fastest growing automotive shows in the world. We were thrilled to present our latest high-brightness technology and unveil a new automotive lighting brand at the show this year.

Atala: A New Automotive Lighting Brand

In tandem with a new microsite, our team officially launched the new automotive brand Atala, which showcases the best of OLED technology on the road today. The brand will provide a more tailored experience for our automotive customers through specific messaging, unparalleled value, and clear differentiation from competitors. Atala products are the thinnest, brightest, and longest-lasting OLED lights on the road, enabled by the technical expertise and precision manufacturing of OLEDWorks.

On the first day of the show, our Director of Marketing, Kathleen Miller, delivered a press briefing to share what customers can expect from the new brand.

New High-Brightness Technology

To complement the launch, OLEDWorks showcased the latest Atala OLED lighting technology at CES. A key demonstration included a new prototype for a vertical rear light in a truck, which utilized a six-stack OLED architecture and new formulation, capable of reaching a maximum brightness of 20,000 cd/m2. This high-brightness technology is currently in development to expand OLED capabilities for turn and stop applications.

The OLEDWorks booth also featured a rear lighting demonstrator of the Audi Q6 e-tron, courtesy of Audi.  Once released, the Q6 e-tron will feature six OLED lighting panels with approximately 60 segments each, enabling the most dynamic animation capabilities on the road.

As we take a moment to celebrate the success of CES 2024, our team is already thinking of how we can improve and expand our offerings for next year’s show. We’ll continue to push the envelope of what’s possible with automotive lighting technology, so keep an eye out for exciting updates between now and CES 2025!
