OLEDWorks Announces OLEDSurface Light Module

Module Integrates OLED, Driver and Frame to Easily mount OLED to any flat surface

Rochester, May 9, 2018 – OLEDWorks LLC, the leading OLED light engine and panel manufacturing company, today announced the launch of the OLEDSurface module, a “ready-to-install” thin, comfortable and glare-free light source with exceptional light quality.

Developed in collaboration with the driver and component experts at LED Specialists, and supported by NYSERDA, the OLEDSurface provides up to 300 lumens of uniform, full spectrum light at 3000K or 4000K CCT with CRI > 90 and R9 >50.  It can be mounted on walls, ceilings, under cabinets or any other flat surface while being “cool to the touch” without any additional heat sinking.

The OLEDSurface, only 8.1m in thickness and 90grams, marries the OLEDWorks Lumiblade Brite panels with a low voltage constant current driver, a plastic mounting frame and snap-on cosmetic bezel for the ultimate simple but elegant solution. The durable polymer mounting frame allows easy screw attachment to a junction box or any flat surface.  The Brite OLED panel, and the bezel are integrated as one unit that readily snaps into place once the frame, with its integral 0-10V dimming compatible driver, is mounted.

“OLEDWorks is pleased to collaborate with LED Specialists, a company uniquely positioned as a technology provider for novel lighting solutions,” said Giana Phelan, OLEDWorks’ Director of Business Development. “The beauty of the OLEDSurface Light Module allows designers of all skill levels to effortlessly install elegant light tiles for the pure, direct view light experience that is uniquely OLED.  In addition, developers will realize cost savings for low voltage wiring, optional elimination of junction boxes, and no need for a plenum that hides bulky heat sinks and drivers.”

“In market research involving lighting designers, architects and lighting OEMs, it became clear that there were numerous and immediate applications for OLEDs requiring a simple “plug and play” installation method” stated Mike Fusco, Co-founder of LED Specialists.  “The OLEDSurface fulfills that need.”

The OLEDSurface runs from any low voltage (SELV) power source (28-48VDC) with typical power consumption of 5.4W.This product is available through both OLEDWorks and LED Specialists.
